We have had a wonderful day. We left Fort Richardson this morning about 8am.
We drove about 200 miles to Deep Creek State Recreation Area on Cook Inlet. Along the way we stopped at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where we saw woodland bison, grizzly bears, caribou, moose. and elk.
After we arrived at the Deep Creek Recreation Site, we met up with traveling Escapees Ken & Jan Tilton, and with Escapees that live in the area, Larry & Peggy Leonard. Ken grilled a delicious London Broil, and after dinner, Carol provided us with Black Russians. Of course, prior to dinner, we were taking many eagle pictures.
We sat around the fire looking across the inlet where we could see what looked like a plume from a volcano.
