We left Dutch Flat, CA yesterday morning continuing our drive on I-80 east, and started driving up hill, topping out on Donner Pass at 7,227 feet above sea level. Marilyn took pictures of snow caps, etc. ![]()

We continued on through Reno,
and spent the night at High Desert RV Park in Winnemucca, NV. I never heard of the town before, except for Hank Snow and Johnny Cash’s “I’ve Been Everywhere” song.
This morning, we left Winnemucca, NV continuing east on I-80. There is plenty of nice scenery, even if it includes bugs on the windshield. ![]()
Continuing into Utah we could see the Great Salt Lake Desert. (Even though it looks like snow, it is Utah, not Alaska). ![]()
We even saw this rock in the middle of the salty desert that looked like a giant sturgeon.
We continued on and got a glimpse of the Great Salt Lake, along with this salt mining operation. ![]()
