Escapade is a National RV Rally put on by the Escapees RV Club. Escapade itself started on Sunday the 8th, and ended Friday morning the 13th. There were over 850 RV’s and over 1200 attendees. We arrived at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, AZ on the 4th to organize about 400 door prizes worth approximately $15,000 into groups of about $50 (excluding the 1st and the final major prizes worth much more, and coupons for hamburgers, etc.) to be given out Sunday, Monday and Wednesday nights. We gave out 35 to 40 door prizes each night in about 30 minutes. I described the door prize, and Marilyn called out the name and number of each winner drawn. If a person was not in attendance, their name and number had to be read 3 times before another winning ticket was drawn. We had a great time with many friends, both old and new.
We were able to go out to eat with friends Dennis and Carol Hill. .
The VCRs (Volunteer Club Representatives) made a large pot of Chili for the Cook-off. . Everyone brought a can of their favorite chili and dumped in to the pot. It was good.
While at Escapade our No-Cold (Norcold RV refrigerator decided it did not want to work correctly, but held in there for a few more days. We stayed for 2 extra days so we could visit Saguaro National Park. Here are a few pictures. .
