Yesterday we left the Florence, OR Elks lodge, and drove 70 miles north on US 101 to Coyote Rock RV Resort & Marina on the Siletz River. .
It rained or drizzled off and on yesterday, last night and today, so we are staying put. Marilyn is doing laundry, etc., and I am doing a blog now that I have read emails, nothing new on Facebook, and the online free newspapers.
While we were in Florence, we went to the Heceta Head Lighthouse, the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum with its great collection of artifacts and labeled old pictures, Marilyn got clam chowder from the Crab Kettle, and we had a delicious seafood linner at the Bridgewater on Bay St.
Here are a couple of pictures of the Heceta Head Lighthouse. . The next 2 pictures of the same lighthouse that I took during June of 2004. . Not much changed.
This is a picture of the museum.
We went to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. There was no visitor center, but Google said water washed the crumbled sandstone down from the mountains, and the ocean and winds washed it back onto land to form the dunes. . The western end of Bay St. in Florence faces the Dunes across the river. .
That’s it for today. Hugs, and type at you later.
