Last night we had a casino night at the clubhouse here at Haines Creek.  We purchased $2,000 in funny money for a dollar, then played critter races, blackjack, poker, roulette, and a dice game.  We also had two 50/50’s.  When the games were closed down, we had an auction with the funny money winnings – bids of at least $100, and some in the 30 and 40 thousands.  Here is Marilyn helping with the auction. 2011-01-29 casino night auction

Today I started cleaning the outside of the house.  I did the roof, back and one side.  Tomorrow I will finish.  The first picture is the clean side of the roof, and the second is the unfinished side.                                                                        2011-01-30 01 Clean side of the roof2011-01-30 02 Unfinished side of the roof

Since then, I have started doing some tax returns; we played Farkel with Lee and Marsha Squires; visited Pete and Mitzi Hull in The Villages; did a little work around the motorhome; and started scanning some more of our old pictures.

If we do anything between now and the 31st, I will try to post again.

It was cold this morning, the water hose was partially frozen – only a trickle of water, so had to turn on the pump to shower.  Marilyn and I worked the morning shift today, signed up three new members before Lon, Carolyn and Louise took over.  Tomorrow, we will work the booth in the afternoon.  We went out to dinner with Ken & Alice Miller, and Marty & Raye Gregor at Sweet Tomatoes.  Great dinner and great company.

I have taken some pictures at the booth with the camera on my phone:

Today, the public came in to the Tampa RV Show.  Lon & Carolyn worked the morning shift with Louise Oeckinghaus, and Marilyn & I worked the afternoon shift with Louise.  When the show closed at 6:00PM, all five of us attended the Suppliers dinner put on by the RV Trade Association.  Marilyn and I ordered new shades for the motorhome.

We drove 38 miles to Sumter Oaks RV Park today.  We will stay here for two nights, and Monday, we move to Seffner, FL for the Tampa RV Show.  We went to the 4:00 social hour at the clubhouse, not many there.  Then we went to dinner at Beef O'Brady's in Bushnell, FL with Larry & Carolyn Jarvis, Ralph & Bev Hosford, and Butch & Doe Rummell.  Of course we had to have a Manhattan hour at our rig after dinner with Larry & Carolyn.

January 7, 2011

Wednesday, the 5th, Marilyn and I made a Sam’s run.  We also picked up a case of whiskey at the ABC store in the Villages.  On Thursday, we drove to the SKP lunch at the Golden Corral in Clermont, FL.  Great crowd of friends, and Marsha & Lee Squires rode with us.  It sure is nice to have them in the same park with us.  Today, Marilyn & I checked mail at the PO Box, picked up the Escapees show boxes in our storage unit (needed for the Tampa RV show), then there was the stop at Publix before coming home.  We continued getting the motorhome ready for tomorrow’s move to Bushnell, FL.  It has taken a while because it has been parked since 11/29/10.

Yesterday, we had a great afternoon and evening visit with Pete (John) and Mitzi Hull.  Cocktails outside,  Marilyn's great Swiss steak dinner inside as it got cool, ChocoVino after dinner, and dessert.  What more can one ask for.

A new year has started.  I do not know if I will be able to write more often in my Blog this year.  I did not do so well the latter half of December 2010.  After the flea market, December got busy, Sunday, the 12th, I attended a Verizon Droid class in Lady Lake, the rv park had an Xmas party potluck on the 14th, we went to visit Lon and Carolyn VanOstran on the 16th, final shopping days, then to Doug’s in Columbus GA on the 22nd.  Marilyn and I drove to Atlanta to pick up Bev on the 23rd, and we had a wonderful family Xmas (just the 4 of us).  Monday the 27th, we took Bev back to the airport, and left Doug on the 28th to return to FL.  Wednesday, we did some errands, and drove to La Mesa RV in Sanford, FL to obtain a part for the screen door.  Of course we also walked in and out of some new rigs – the 2011 Phaeton is quite nice.  New Year’s
Eve the rv park had a nice party from 7 to 10, and then Marilyn and I enjoyed champagne at our rig watching the New Year in.  Tonight, Jan 1, we had another nice potluck at the clubhouse.
